Model for Resolving Fights Between Residents in Kapetakan Village, Cirebon Regency

Abstract

Background. Inter-community brawls have become an increasingly pressing social problem, given their destructive impact.

Aims. This study aims to explore the causes and impacts of inter-community brawls through a literature review.

Methods. An analysis of relevant scientific articles found that the triggers of brawls can be divided into two main dimensions. The internal dimension includes deindividuation, identity crisis, and low self-regulation, while the external dimension includes ineffective family parenting, peer influence, and provocation through social media. The impact of brawls is significant, not only in terms of physical aspects and fatalities, but also in terms of psychological disorders, moral decline, stigma, and serious legal consequences.

Conclusion. This study concludes that a comprehensive intervention approach is needed, involving school counseling services, education on better parenting, and community supervision to reduce adolescent aggression.

Implication. This strategy is expected to address the root causes of brawls more effectively and in a more structured manner, thereby creating a safer environment and supporting positive adolescent development.
